FRAUD.

Fraud is defined as dishonest dealings in land.

Incidents of Land Fraud.

1.      Acquiring a special certificate of title by pretending to be the owner of land.

2.      Forging powers of attorney with intention to acquire or sell land that is not yours.

3.      Not disclosing the true amount paid for a land transaction.

4.      Double titling land (when land is given two land titles).

5.      Forging land titles.

6.      Illegal removal of caveats (a caveat is a notice by someone who has interest in land preventing any dealing in land).

7.      Administrators /executors transferring land to their individual names or third parties without the consent of the beneficiaries.
